Top 5 Downtown Pittsburgh Restaurants for Picky Eaters

#2 Tavern 245

Tavern 245 is the loungiest place on this list for picky people.  Located outside of the cultural district, just a block outside Market Square on Fourth Avenue, burgers and sandwiches anchor the dining menu at Tavern 245.  This well priced gem has menu items which fuse American cuisine with other regional cuisines, but holds strong with American classics which picky eaters are drawn to.  Chicken Tenders, for instance can be a go-to item for the kids while more adventurous palates go for the Strictly Business Burger with fried chicken skins, bacon, egg, and a feta truffle aioli.

Highly recommended for happy hour or casual gatherings, Tavern 245 has safe-bet ordering options for kids and those pesky, picky adults.

  1. Nothing says Pittsburgh like a national chain wining a local restaurant competition.

  2. This wasn’t really a “competition,” but I do find The Capital Grille to be very accommodating to groups and special menu requests for kids and the picky.

The list has 2 national and 3 local brand restaurants from downtown. What other downtown Pittsburgh restaurants have been overly accommodating to you?
